Video footage shows the moments leading up to a U.S. citizen being shot and killed in Minneapolis by a Border Patrol agent.
The man, identified as 37-year-old U.S. citizen and Veterans Affairs ICU nurse Alex Jeffrey Pretti, was shot and killed after he appeared to be filming on his phone as he directed traffic, according to video footage shared with The Daily Beast.
Federal agents then push another woman onto the ground, and the man appears to come to the woman’s side.

A gunshot is then heard. Some agents turn away from the scene when several more gunshots are heard.
DHS has claimed that Pretti ambushed law enforcement with his gun and “wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement.”
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara noted that Pretti was a “lawful gun owner with a permit to carry.”
This shooting comes as the Minneapolis community is already on edge after ICE agent Jonathan Ross fatally shot 37-year-old Minnesota mother Renee Nicole Good on Jan. 7.
Saturday’s shooting occurred just one mile away from where Good was killed.
Good’s death has sparked daily protests across the Twin Cities. On Friday, thousands of protesters filled the streets of Downtown Minneapolis demanding that federal immigration agents leave the city.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has repeatedly called for ICE to leave Minneapolis, and again called for the agency to leave on Saturday after the shooting.
“How many more residents? How many more Americans need to die or get badly hurt for this operation to end?” Frey said. “How many more lives need to be lost before this administration realizes that a political and partisan narrative is not as important as American values?”
