Donald Trump has accused the Democratic nominee for New York City mayor of being a “Jew hater” and said any Jewish person who votes for him is “stupid.”

The president wrote the post on Truth Social as millions of New Yorkers were heading to the polls on Election Day.

“Any Jewish person that votes for Zohran Mamdani, a proven and self professed JEW HATER, is a stupid person!!!” Trump claimed.

It came after Trump, who was born and raised in New York, made a last-ditch effort to tip the scales in America’s largest city away from the frontrunner by endorsing former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an Independent after losing the primary.

Mamdani, 34, is a democratic socialists and Muslim who was accused of antisemitism by his critics for his stance on Gaza during the campaign.

However, a Marist poll last month showed Mamdani receiving 32 percent among Jewish likely voters to Cuomo’s 55 percent as the Democratic nominee.

Mamdani has the backing of his one-time mayoral opponent Brad Lander, New York’s comptroller, who is Jewish. Lander cross-endorsed Mamdani in the primary and has campaigned for him as the nominee.

Senator Bernie Sanders, along with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have also campaigned with him in the final stretch.

Trump has a long history of weighing in on who he believes Jewish people should vote for and attacking them for not aligning with him.

Ahead of his own election last year, Trump attacked Jewish Democrats and said any Jewish person who votes for the Democrats was a fool who needed to have “their head examined.” Jewish advocates called Trump’s attacks “classic antisemitism.”

Trump has been accusing Mamdani of being an extremist since he won the primary, but polling has shown Mamdani as the clear frontrunner in the race by double digits in the final stretch.

The president held off on endorsing Cuomo, his former foe during the coronavirus pandemic, until Monday in a rambling post.

He threatened if Mamdani won it was “highly unlikely that I will be contributing Federal Funds, other than the very minimum as required, to my beloved first home, because of the fact that, as a Communist, this once great City has ZERO chance of success, or even survival!”

Trump claimed “it is my strong conviction that New York City will be a Complete and Total Economic and Social Disaster should Mamdani win” and said New Yorkers had no choice but to back Cuomo.

“You must vote for him, and hope he does a fantastic job. He is capable of it, Mamdani is not!” the president insisted.
