President Donald Trump freaked out on the state of the Kansas Senate race on Monday with a fiery post defending embattled MAGA Senator Roger Marshall.

The president hit the panic button on Truth Social as the Kansas Republican has been hit with a series of brutal reports and polls have shown him neck-and-neck with Democratic opponent Adam Hamilton.

Republicans are now spending millions to try and hold the seat in a state Trump won in 2024 by more than 16 points. Trump on Monday vowed he would also campaign for Marshall.

“Senator Roger Marshall is working incredibly hard for the Great State of Kansas, which I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024. Roger is one of my favorite Senators — He is absolutely GREAT, a wonderful person, given a ‘bum rap’ because he was mandated by Law to request money owed from patients,” Trump began.

It comes after the New York Times reported last month that as a doctor, Marshall sued 700 patients for debt and 81 were arrested. The patients were also routinely charged 18 percent interest.

But Trump defended Marshall’s actions, writing, “If he didn’t make these requests, he would be breaking the Law, and subject to criminal liability and arrest. A judge ordering a patient’s arrest for not showing up to court many, many times is not Roger Marshall’s fault — IT IS THE LAW, and his Crooked Opponent is using that against him.”

In the 544-word post, Trump went on to lob a series of attacks against Hamilton along the same lines as he has used to go after numerous Democratic candidates running for office.

Hamilton is a pastor who leads the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, the largest United Methodist congregation in the U.S., a detail that did not sit well with Trump.

“I won the Evangelical Christian Vote IN A LANDSLIDE, a Record Number, the Highest in History, and am more popular with them now, than ever before, because of what I have done, and gotten them — And I wouldn’t want Adam Hamilton being my pastor,” Trump ranted. “He’s caused nothing but turmoil in his church, which has broken up, and is virtually at war with each other because of him.”

“As someone who got a massive Majority of the Evangelical Vote, I can state unequivocally that Adam Hamilton is not one of us!” the prsident added a few lines later. “He is a Radical Left LUNATIC Dumocrat, whose values are not those of the People of Kansas, or the United States of America, and now he’s trying to take out one of the best and most respected Senators in our Country.”

The president went on to give Marshall a long-winded endorsement and hinted he might travel to the state in the near future to campaign for him.

“ROGER LOVES KANSAS, AND WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! I will be having a Kansas Style Rally, in Roger’s Honor, very soon,” Trump wrote.

It comes after Vance already rushed to the state to campaign for him, as the Senate Leadership Fund, which is fighting for Republicans to maintain the Senate majority, has also started spending millions in the state.

But the president’s post comes as Marshall has, in some ways, attempted to distance himself from Trump, raising concerns about ICE operations in the state last month in a post on X. It was a departure from his usual tune, which has been almost entirely in lockstep with the administration.

The latest polling shows the race in a statistical tie. According to the InsiderAdvantage poll, Hamilton is leading Marshall by one point, 48 percent to 47 percent this month while the latest New York Times/Siena poll showed Marshall at 42 percent and Hamilton at 41 percent, with the rest backing other candidates or refusing to say.

The Daily Beast asked Marshall’s campaign if he would like the president to come and campaign with him in his state. Some other candidates in tough races have shied away from the president, whose popularity is deep underwater, in recent months.

If Hamilton wins the Senate race in Kansas, he will be the first Democrat to do so in the state in nearly a century.

Republicans currently hold 53 seats in the Senate while Democrats hold 47 seats. Democrats need to flip four seats to retake the Senate majority come November.
