‘Digger’ Stands to Lose Jaw-Dropping Sum in Second Weekend

Digger, starring Tom Cruise, is poised to lose $245 million at the box office. Warner Bros. was initially expected to lose $150 million to $200 million after last weekend’s opening raked in just $8 million domestically and $20 million globally. However, the movie’s second-weekend performance fell even further short of expectations, bringing its total earnings to $14.4 million domestically and $35.3 million worldwide. Digger is projected to earn just $50 million worldwide by the end of its theatrical run. Variety reports that the film needs an estimated $350 million globally to break even, accounting for theaters keeping roughly half of ticket sales. Warner Bros. claims the break-even point is $300 million. Even efforts by Hollywood stars, including Anne Hathaway, Jane Fonda, Guillermo del Toro, and Mandy Patinkin, to promote the movie proved fruitless. The offbeat dark comedy has gotten such bad reviews that Warner Bros. launched a “Decide for Yourself” marketing campaign encouraging audiences to look beyond the critics.

Rob Lowe and Sheryl Berkoff’s son Matthew Lowe, 33, tied the knot with Emily Markus in Santa Barbara, California, on Saturday. Gwyneth Paltrow officiated the ceremony, which drew A-list guests including Katy Perry, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Cameron Diaz, Adam Levine, Behati Prinsloo, and Maria Shriver. Paltrow, 52, has been friends with Matthew’s parents for decades. She first met Berkoff as a teenager, when Berkoff worked as a makeup artist for her mother, actress Blythe Danner. The groom announced the couple’s engagement in July 2025 on Instagram with a series of photos of the proposal with the caption: “Lord of the rings.” The wedding comes weeks after Rob’s niece, Fiona, the 13-year-old daughter of his brother Chad Lowe, died. The family has expressed its grief over Fiona’s death and requested privacy as they mourn. The wedding was the first time Chad, Kim, and their surviving daughters had appeared in public since her death.

Universal’s latest horror movie Other Mommy led the domestic box office this weekend, according to early estimates. The horror genre continues to dominate the 2026 box office, with Other Mommy’s strong opening following major horror hits Obsession, Backrooms, and Resident Evil. The film, which cost $18 million to make, is eyeing a $28 million weekend, while psychological thriller Verity holds the No. 2 spot in its second week, with an estimated $14.2 million weekend. The film is based on Josh Malerman’s 2024 novel “Incidents Around the House,” which follows a sinister entity that takes on the appearance of a young girl’s mother and begins haunting their home. Jessica Chastain, known for her roles in The Help, Zero Dark Thirty, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye, stars as the mother, Ursula, as well as the titular entity. Despite its strong opening, the film has received a lukewarm response from critics, earning just 18 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Pope Leo XIV announced he will undergo surgery to remove a small growth on his lung this week. “Recently, during some medical tests, doctors discovered a localized nodule in my lung,” Leo, 71, said during his Sunday noon prayer in St. Peter’s Square. “The doctors believe it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to have it removed.” The American pontiff has no previously known health problems. The surgery is scheduled at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, where popes typically receive medical care. Vatican spokesperson Matteo Bruni said, “The operation is scheduled for the first days of this week, and the estimated post-operative recovery time will be about one week.” Leo is supposed to travel to Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru in November. It’s unclear whether the planned surgery and recovery will affect the planned trip. “I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers,” Leo told the crowd.

From red light therapy caps to topical serums, there’s no shortage of over-the-counter products promising to support thicker, fuller-looking hair. Of course, if you’re experiencing sudden or significant shedding, it’s always best to consult your doctor or dermatologist to rule out an underlying cause. But for those looking to support healthy hair growth from the inside out, supplements have become an increasingly popular addition to the at-home arsenal. After all, nutrition plays an important role in both the hair growth cycle and overall scalp and follicle health.

O Positiv has built a loyal following around its female-focused supplements, including its popular URO vaginal probiotics and FLO PMS vitamins, and now the women-owned brand is bringing that same approach to hair care. Its latest launch, URO Hair Growth Capsules, is a clinically backed daily supplement designed to help support hair growth and volume while reducing the appearance of thinning in as little as 90 days.

The formula combines familiar hair-supporting nutrients like biotin, iron, folate, and vitamin B12 with Serevelle, the brand’s proprietary botanical complex designed to help address DHT, a hormone linked with certain types of hair loss, and support a longer hair-growth phase. Rather than focusing on just one potential contributor to thinning, URO Hair Growth takes a more multifaceted approach.

Unlike other hair growth ingestibles, the daily capsules stand out because it also contains holy basil, an adaptogenic herb traditionally used to support the body’s response to stress. Prolonged physical or emotional stress can disrupt the normal hair-growth cycle and contribute to increased shedding, making them a great addition. For those who want a more inside-out approach to thinning (or to complement serums, scalp treatments, and high-tech devices), URO Hair Growth Capsules offer another option to add to your lineup.

Barry Manilow’s much-anticipated Las Vegas comeback hit a snag this weekend when he walked offstage after just two songs at the International Theater at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. Manilow headed for the exit Friday, even as his band kept playing, before an announcement finally told the audience the show was over. The “Mandy” crooner’s Saturday-night performance was subsequently canceled. His rep said in a statement: “After a triumphant welcome-back concert on Thursday, Barry got hit with bronchitis, and had to cancel his Friday and Saturday shows.” The 83-year-old singer announced last December that he had been diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer and underwent surgery and voice rehabilitation. Manilow’s Thursday concert at the casino was his first performance there since late August. He noted on social media at the time that he was taking a “quick break” from touring. “We just finished a fantastic summer tour,” he wrote. “Twenty-nine shows in 68 days. The shows were fantastic. The audiences were fantastic. And I sounded fantastic. But it seems that we were pushing a little too hard.”

A reportedly “agitated” man climbed into the tiger enclosure at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster in Yorkshire, England, on Saturday afternoon, where he was swiftly attacked by one of the resident tigers. The man suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital. He has not yet been publicly identified, and authorities said they were working to notify his family first. Witnesses to the attack said they saw the man climb into the enclosure before being grabbed. Videos of the horrific incident circulated online Saturday evening, and South Yorkshire Police urged the public not to seek out the footage. “Following the incident, Yorkshire Wildlife Park was evacuated and officers remained on scene carrying out inquiries,” they said. “We are aware of videos circulating online and we would encourage people not to share this distressing footage.” In the footage, a tiger can be seen biting a man in a black hoodie on the back of the neck, and the man then appears to point to the animal while pushing it away with his legs. “The tiger remained in the enclosure following the incident, and there is no wider risk to the public,” police said. The wildlife park remained closed on Sunday.

Pacific Health Sciences announced this week that it is voluntarily recalling a single lot of its Babies’ Magic Tea brand Baby Sleep Gripe Water after Food and Drug Administration testing detected undeclared alcohols in the product. The alcohols included ethanol, methanol, and isopropanol. “Measured levels were approximately 8.3% ethanol, 0.35% methanol, and 0.48% isopropanol,” the company said in its announcement, which was published on the FDA website. “These substances were not listed on the label. Their presence may pose a risk depending on the amount consumed, and the age and body weight of the person using the product.” The product is packaged in four-fluid-ounce amber bottles inside blue cardboard boxes, and comes with an oral syringe, the company notes. It was distributed via online retailers, including the Secrets of Tea website and Amazon. Only a single lot of the product is impacted by the recall, Pacific Health Sciences emphasized. The lot number, 25122bw, can be found on the bottom and side panel of the blue cardboard boxes, and the product has a “best before” date of December 2028, the company noted.

More than 4,000 cases of measles have been identified in the United States so far this year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Friday. Most of those cases were among people ages 19 and younger, the agency said, and around 95 percent were among unvaccinated people or those whose vaccination status was unknown. The CDC says two people have died, but that number “is subject to change.” Pennsylvania health officials have confirmed five measles-related deaths. One dose of the MMR vaccine is 93 percent effective, according to the CDC, while the recommended two doses are 97 percent effective. But vaccination rates have been declining. In the 2019-2020 school year, 95.2 percent of kindergarteners were vaccinated; in 2025-2026, that number was 92.4 percent. The U.S. is on track for the highest number of measles cases since 1991, when there were 9,643. Increased vaccinations over the following years resulted in measles being declared eradicated in 2000. This year’s rapid resurgence comes under the leadership of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a vaccine skeptic who last month urged attention not only on deaths due to measles, but “children who are dying or suffering or being injured by vaccine injuries.”

Whether CBD or THC, most cannabis products (including gummies) are usually associated with stimulating your appetite (aka giving you “the munchies”) and promoting relaxation—and, with some strains, even sleep. If you’ve ever wanted the mood-boosting benefits of cannabis sans the snacking and napping, THCV, an under-the-radar cannabinoid known for its potentially energizing effects, may be just what you’re looking for.

According to TribeTokes, a women-owned cannabis brand, THCV may not only help support focus, energy, and alertness but could also have the opposite effect on appetite as traditional THC. While THC activates receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system associated with hunger, THCV interacts with these receptors differently and is being studied for its possible appetite-regulating effects. In other words, it may offer a gentle mood and energy lift without the usual snack attacks.

TribeTokes’ THCV-powered Fit & Focused gummies contain zero traditional THC, so you can even take one pre-workout for a subtle energy boost instead of reaching for a sugary energy drink or pricey latte. Each strawberry-flavored gummy is packed with 15 milligrams of THCV, 20 milligrams of CBG (a cannabinoid associated with focus and a balanced mood), and 15 milligrams of CBD to round out the formula. Together, this cannabinoid trifecta supports steady energy, focus, and mood without leaving you feeling jittery, “out of it,” or ready to raid the snack drawer.

Plus, because they’re caffeine-free, you don’t have to worry about the jitters or inevitable crash that can come with another cup of coffee or a standard energy supplement. Whether you take one before a workout or when you need to power through an afternoon slump, the Fit & Focused THCV Gummies are basically the antithesis of your stereotypical cannabis gummy.

A 20-year-old hiker has died after falling around 200 feet while on a trail in Montana. The man, identified as Callum Cook, died last Friday while on Blackmore Mountain with a friend. According to Gallatin County Sheriff Dan Springer, three search-and-rescue teams, the U.S. Air Force, a Med Flight, and the U.S. Air Force 40th Helicopter Squadron were involved in the rescue operation in the early hours of the morning. Cook was determined to be dead at the scene when the team eventually found his body. Volunteers remained on the summit of Blackmore to help the hiker’s friend, who reported the fall, including helping to pack up the camp and accompanying him while he hiked out. In a statement, Springer offered condolences to Cook’s family and friends. He also thanked the search-and-rescue volunteers and crews for their work on the overnight mission. Tributes were also paid on social media for the 20-year-old. “RIP. This one is bad news all the way around. Family to friends to the hiking buddy that was camping with him,” one Facebook user wrote.

Mike Ditka, a legendary tight end who later coached the Chicago Bears to a Super Bowl victory, died Friday at 86. His family announced the death in a statement shared by Jarrett Payton, son of former Bears running back Walter Payton. A Pennsylvania native, Ditka joined the Bears in 1961 after playing college football for the University of Pittsburgh. In Chicago, he was named rookie of the year and invited to his first Pro Bowl. He later spent two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before playing for the Cowboys from 1969 until his retirement in 1972. Fondly dubbed “Da Coach,” he led the Bears to their only Super Bowl win in 1985. Ditka was known for his unfiltered rants, intense press conferences, and tough demeanor. “While the world knew Mike as a Hall of Fame football player, legendary coach, and leader of the Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl XX championship team, we knew him as the heart of our family,” his family’s statement read.
