Former WWE legend Glenn Jacobs has emerged as a frontrunner to replace Tennessee Governor-elect Marsha Blackburn in the Senate, according to a new report. Two Republican officials familiar with the matter said the 59-year-old has a major advantage, citing his longstanding relationship with Blackburn. This comes after reports that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is not being considered for the soon-to-be-vacant seat. “Based on [what happened], it’s even more likely for Glenn,” one of the operatives told The Washington Sun. In October, Jacobs told the Fox News Rundown podcast about the speculation: “Well, for me, that is something that I’m very honored that people would say about me.” After decades in the WWE ring as the wrestler Kane, Jacobs entered politics when he won his campaign for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, in 2018. He was re-elected in 2022 and served out his final term until Sept. 1 this year. Blackburn will officially appoint her successor when she takes office in January.

Haunting Final Call From Doomed Jet Passenger Revealed
The nanny traveling on the Learjet 60 plane that crashed into a South Florida mobile home park last week made a final video call to her sister before takeoff, her sister said. Angie Ramirez Cetina tells the US Sun that her sister, 24-year-old Anita Maria Cetina, FaceTimed her to show her the children she was caring for and the private jet. “She was very happy,” she said. “She was truly happy because she had never been to the Bahamas, and even though she was working, she didn’t see it as work.” Anita, a bioengineering graduate from Colombia, had been caring for the young children—Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2—of Adam Robinson and Helen Sharp for about a year and a half. She died alongside the family, their friends Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr, and crew members Jeffrey Gregory and Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras. Angie told The Sun that she and Anita were “inseparable.”

Two skydivers were killed Friday after they collided mid-air over the city of Lake Elsinore in southern California. According to Skydive Elsinore, the women were licensed, experienced skydivers visiting from out of town. A company spokesperson told NBC News they were participating in the California Women’s Upright Record Team, which was preparing for a world record attempt for the number of women to complete a standing-stance dive. The women collided near the end of their jump, and their parachutes became tangled, Skydive Elsinore said. Both sustained “critical injuries” when they reached the ground. NBC News reports that the women were taken to a hospital in critical condition and subsequently pronounced dead. Skydive Elsinore said there was no indication that the skydivers’ equipment malfunctioned. “Skydive Elsinore extends its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of both skydivers, and is grieving alongside all those affected,” the company said in a statement.

Sen. Chris Murphy, 53, won’t be returning to the floor next week for the post-blue-wave session after suffering a stroke last weekend. The Connecticut Democrat’s office announced Friday that he was discharged from Johns Hopkins Hospital but will spend several weeks at a rehab center. His condition and expected return date were not disclosed. Dr. Jose Suarez, director of the hospital’s neurocritical care division, said Murphy “has shown tremendous progress” and is expected to make a full recovery. Murphy, who has been mentioned for a possible 2028 presidential candidacy, issued a statement about his recovery after he was discharged from the hospital. “The doctors are very encouraged by the progress I’ve made so far,” Murphy wrote. “In order to take my recovery seriously and get back to work on the quickest timeline possible, I will be spending several weeks at a rehabilitation center.” While attending his son’s hockey game on Oct. 31, Murphy felt a numbness in his arm and called 911, which took him to a nearby hospital. There, the vocal Trump critic was diagnosed with a “small” brain bleed. Meanwhile, his party prepares to take control of the Senate, and Republicans weigh their priorities for their last few weeks.

Food that won’t stick, pans that won’t scratch, and cleanup that won’t take all night? Yes, please. Circulon’s 12-piece cookware set handles the holiday’s most-loved dishes (and hosting hassles) this year—and for many years to come.
This complete set includes all the kitchen essentials you need: two saucepans with straining lids, one sauté pan with lid and convenient helper handle, one stockpot with lid, and three frying pans (8.5, 10, and 12 inches).

They are also oven-safe up to 400°F (lids up to 350°F) and are dishwasher-safe—a must for holiday hosting.

Reality star Joan Vassos and fiancé Chock Chapple have ended their engagement after two years. The couple, who met on the first season of The Golden Bachelorette in 2024, shared near-identical statements announcing the split on their Instagram stories Friday morning. “We spent the last two years living what we hoped would be the beginning of our love story, sharing our families, amazing adventures, laughter, and supporting each other through challenging times,” both messages read. “Sadly, our journey hasn’t turned out so happy, and we have decided to end our engagement.” Vassos and Chapple, both 63, got engaged during The Golden Bachelorette season finale in November 2024. Months later, the pair told the Bachelor franchise’s official news site, Bachelor Nation, that they hadn’t started planning the wedding yet. “We don’t have a biological clock, we’re not having kids, so I think when the time is right we’ll know it, and we’ll go and do it!” Vassos said.

Robert F. Kennedy’s measles disaster has reached a bleak new milestone. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show over 5,000 cases across 45 states and Washington, D.C. A total of 5,182 cases have been confirmed, with eight deaths reported: One in New York, one in Wisconsin, and six in Pennsylvania. State health officials confirmed three of them this week, with the death in New York the first in three decades. The CDC has confirmed four of the deaths at the time of writing, but said that the number was “subject to change.” According to ABC News, around 96 percent of cases are among people who were unvaccinated or whose vaccination status was unknown. The CDC noted that only 2 percent of cases were among people who had had the recommended double dose of the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine. It comes as Health Secretary RFK Jr. spearheads government efforts to change the official stance on immunization.

John D. “Jay” Rockefeller IV—heir to his family dynasty, one of America’s wealthiest families—died Friday at age 89. He died in his home in Washington, D.C., and is survived by former television executive Sharon Percy Rockefeller, 81, and their four children. The family hasn’t released further details of his death. As the great-grandson of oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller, America’s richest man, and the nephew of New York Gov. Nelson Rockefeller, Jay was part of his family’s political dynasty. He graduated from Harvard University and served for two years in a national service program in impoverished rural West Virginia. After serving two terms as Governor of West Virginia, he went on to serve the poor coal-mining state as a senator for three decades from 1984 to 2015. Described as soft-spoken, he worked fiercely to fight poverty and support coal miners and military veterans. He backed former President Bill Clinton’s failed near-universal healthcare bill, and later did the same for Barack Obama’s much more successful attempt. “Championing those most in need has been my life’s calling, and I will never stop fighting to make a difference,” Rockefeller said during his announcement that he would not seek a sixth Senate term in 2013.

Fall is officially here, which means shorter days, cooler weather, and criminally overrated pumpkin spice everything. As we inch closer to winter (and the holiday hosting season), it’s the perfect time to cozy up with a new blanket. Lola Blankets are indisputably the best on the market—designed from the softest faux fur fabric we’ve ever felt and machine-washable. Right now, the brand is offering a very generous 50 percent off deal to help us quell our post-summer blues during its early Black Friday sale. In addition to this rare sitewide sale, the brand is also offering free shipping on orders over $250. It’s a great opportunity to treat yourself or lock down the ultimate gift for the person on your list who swears they “don’t want anything.”

If you’re new to Lola Blankets, you cannot go wrong with the Original Lola, but we also love the XL size (it fits over a queen-size bed) and the weighted versions. Either way, it’s one of the brand’s biggest deals of the year, so if you’re looking for a luxury blanket for snuggle season, now’s the time to treat yourself. Elon Musk has announced plans to wind down production of his Tesla Cybertruck at the company’s plant in Austin, Texas. The announcement, expected to take effect in the middle of next year, comes with his companies on track to lose roughly $370 billion in value by the end of the week. Investors are fleeing partly over fears Musk could be about to lose the political benefits his relationship with the second Trump has afforded him, after the hundreds of millions he poured into Tuesday’s midterms failed to save the Republican Party from an electoral wipeout. Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck to tepid reception in 2023 but enjoyed a surge of interest from MAGA supporters when Musk switched political allegiances the following year, though sales have since returned to their pre-surge levels. The company’s billionaire CEO said in an X statement that the decision to wind down on manufacturing in Texas was “to make room for increased Cybercab production,” but did not clarify whether the output would be picked up elsewhere or if he plans to discontinue the model altogether.
Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte’s manner of death has been revealed as suicide by hanging. An official inquest produced by Cameron County, Texas, and obtained by Page Six revealed that he was pronounced dead at 1:32 p.m. on October 12. He was 34. The report also revealed that a toxicology test and autopsy had been carried out, but their details were not included. He died in Brownsville, Texas, near the southern border, and his agent had previously confirmed that he had taken his own life. “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte,” his agent previously told Page Six. “RJ Mitte was best known for his role as Walter ‘Flynn’ White Jr. on AMC’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series Breaking Bad. Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion.”
